Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 Passing Incentive Program

Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JPLT) N1 before applying will be exempted from 300,000 yen from their first year tuition fees.

300,000 yen tuition exemption

  • If you would like to use this system, please check "Use" in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 Passing Subsidy System column on the application form.
  • If you are accepted as a scholarship student, the larger reduction amount will be applied and will be reduced from your first year tuition fees.
  • There is no obligation to repay (except for those who drop out).

If you are accepted while enrolled (after applying), you will receive a 300,000 yen bonus at the time of graduation, regardless of whether you are a scholarship student or not.

  • 受給条件
    1. After receiving the scholarship, the recipient must be willing to cooperate with JASSO's career status survey, etc., conducted through the recipient's home university.
    2. Those who have a GPA of 2.30 or higher for the previous academic year, as determined by a method specified separately, and who are expected to maintain this level during the period of receipt of the grant. If this cannot be expressed as a GPA, the student must be recognized as having particularly excellent academic performance, equivalent to a GPA of 2.30 or higher.
    3. The average monthly allowance is 90,000 yen or less (not including admission fees, tuition fees, etc.).
    4. The annual income of the dependent living in Japan is less than 5 million yen.
    5. The recipient is not a recipient of any scholarship or other grant that is restricted from being used in conjunction with the scholarship.
    6. Applicants must not be receiving support through the JASSO overseas study support program.
How to apply This is done through the school in which the student is enrolled (Figures 1 and 2). Applicants fill out an application form and submit it to their school (Figure 3), after which the school recommends them to JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) (Figure 4).
Result notification Once the selection process is complete (Figure 5), the results of whether you have been accepted or not will be notified via your school (Figure 6).

Dormitory system for study abroad

The Kyoritsu International Exchange Scholarship Foundation provides the student dormitory operated by Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. at a special rate to international students.
