Hello.

We will contact you regarding eligibility to take the athletic trainer theory exam.

Due to system revisions by the Japan Sport Association, the following two changes will be made.

1. 2026The format of the theory exam has changed from this year. CBT will be changed to.
2. Eligibility to take the exam is only available until 2029.

1. The format of the theoretical exam will change to CBT from 2026.

The exam will be changed to CBT format from 2026.

CBT is a testing method that uses a computer.

Candidates use a mouse and keyboard to answer questions displayed on a computer. (Quoted from a JSPO presentation)

Please note that the current multiple choice format of 220 questions (110/110​ ​questions) will no longer be used for the exam.

We will also contact you once we receive final details about the new exam format.

2.　2029.Eligibility to take the exam is only available until

The sports association is currently revising its curriculum.

In light of the above, eligibility to take the exam under the current curriculum will remain valid until 2029, and from 2030 onwards,

Those who are currently eligible to take the theoretical exam and are considering obtaining the qualification will have until 2029​

Please check if you need to obtain it.
