*There is no obligation to return the money (except for dropouts).

*The amount of exemption will be reviewed each time you advance to the next grade. The above amounts are examples assuming you remain a scholarship student of the same type until graduation.

If the first round of applications is filled to capacity, there may be no second or subsequent rounds of applications.

Eligibility to apply

  • General admission

    ・Age 18 or older (as of March 31, 2024)

    - Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or abroad.
    Or a person designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this.
    <Meet one of the following conditions>

    ・Implemented by the Japan International Education Association and the Japan Foundation
    Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N2 or above).

    ・Those who have obtained 200 points or more on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese language).

    ・Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.

    ・An educational institution in Japan that provides Japanese language education to foreigners (Japanese language educational institution)
    Those who have received Japanese language education for more than six months in a format specified by the Minister of Justice through a public notice.

    -Those who have completed at least one year of education in a Japanese elementary, junior high or high school.

  • Tuition reduction and exemption for international students

    ・Age 18 or older (as of March 31, 2024)

    - Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or abroad.
    Or a person designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this.

    ・Sports, hobbies, volunteer activities, studies, work experience, etc.
    Someone who can recommend themselves.
    <Meet one of the following conditions>

    ・Implemented by the Japan International Education Association and the Japan Foundation
    Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N2 or above).

    ・Those who have obtained 200 points or more on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese language)

    ・Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test

    ・An educational institution in Japan that provides Japanese language education to foreigners (Japanese language educational institution)
    Those who have been enrolled for six months or more in a school designated by the Minister of Justice with an attendance rate of 80% or more.

    Among general admission applicants, those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or above / have obtained 200 points or more on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese) /
    If you meet any of the following criteria, you will be exempt from the written test if you submit a certificate that you have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.

    ・Those who are selected for admission with tuition fee reduction for international students are required to take a written test.

If you are not selected as a scholarship student for the international student tuition fee reduction program, you will be reselected as a "general admissions applicant" and, in principle, you will not need to take the exam again.

* Whether you submit your application by mail or in person, please be sure to transfer the application fee in advance.
The application fee should be transferred in the applicant's name using the designated transfer form or ATM, and the "Transfer Certificate" (or a copy of the "Transfer Statement" in the case of an ATM transfer) should be affixed to the back of the application form.

* If you are sending by mail, please place your application documents in the application envelope designated by our school and send them by registered mail from your post office so that they arrive within the application period.

*If you are sending money from outside Japan, any fees will be borne by the sender.

*The application fee cannot be refunded after the application has been accepted.

Tuition Support System

  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 Pass Incentive Program

    For those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 300,000 yen tuition exemption.
    Even if you pass the exam while you are still a student, you will receive a congratulatory gift.
    A grant of 300,000 yen will be provided upon graduation.

    * Applies to students enrolled as of April 2025

    * If you are accepted as a scholarship student, the larger reduction or exemption amount will be applied. Both reductions and exemptions cannot be used together.

    * If you pass N1 while enrolled, you will receive a congratulatory gift, regardless of whether you are a scholarship student or not.

    The results of whether you have been accepted or not will be notified through your school.
