Eligibility to apply

AO admission (comprehensive selection)

  • General admission

    - Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or abroad.
    Or a person designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this.
    <Meet one of the following conditions>

    ・Implemented by the Japan International Education Association and the Japan Foundation
    Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N2 or above).

    ・Those who have obtained 200 points or more on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese language).

    ・Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.

    - Educational institutions in Japan that provide Japanese language education to foreigners, designated as Japanese language education institutions by the Ministry of Justice.
    Those who have received Japanese language education for one year or more at a Japanese language education institution certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

    -Those who have completed at least one year of education in a Japanese elementary, junior high or high school.

    * If you do not possess the required documents at the time of application, please submit them after enrollment.

    4. All graduation certificates (or expected graduation certificates) and attendance certificates from schools (Japanese language schools, vocational schools, universities, etc.) where you studied in Japan and were enrolled.

    *Applicants residing outside of Japan must submit a graduation certificate from their highest level of education (with a Japanese translation attached).
    *If it is difficult to obtain a certificate of attendance from your university or other institution, please submit your academic transcript instead.

    5. Copies of results/certificates from the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), or Business Japanese Proficiency Test (BJT) (only if you possess them).

    6. Documents proving expense reimbursement (one of the following from 1 to 3)

    This document proves that you can pay tuition fees and other expenses.

    1. Copy of the bank passbook in the name of the person paying the expenses.
    *Please make a copy so that the name and balance are clearly visible.

    Regarding exemption from the Japanese language examination

    Among general admission applicants, those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or above / have obtained 200 points or more on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (Japanese) /
    If you meet any of the following criteria, you will be exempt from the written test if you submit a certificate that you have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.

    *The Japanese written test is at N2 and N3 levels.

    *We will not respond to any inquiries regarding the pass/fail status.

    *Please make sure to transfer the money before applying.

* Whether you submit your application by mail or in person, please be sure to pay the selection fee (examination fee) in advance. Please transfer the selection fee (examination fee) to the account listed on the back of the application form. The selection fee (examination fee) must be transferred in the applicant's name, and please write the "date of transfer" and "name of the remitter" on the back of the application form. (If using online banking, please write the "date of transfer" and "name of the account holder.")

* Application fees (examination fees) are non-refundable after the application has been submitted.

* If you are sending by mail, please place your application documents in the application envelope designated by our school and send them by registered mail from your post office so that they arrive within the application period.

*If you are sending money from outside Japan, any fees will be borne by the sender.

Tuition Support System

  • Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1/N2 Passing Incentive Program

    Students who pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 by the time of application will receive a 100,000 yen​ ​tuition waiver for their first year, and those who pass the N2 will receive a 50,000 yen waiver.

    * If you wish to utilize this system, please mark "Use" in the section for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1/N2 Passing Incentive Program on the application form and submit a copy of your passing certificate or a document showing your test results.

    * This can be used in conjunction with the scholarship program.

    * There is no obligation to repay the fee. (Except for students who have withdrawn from school.)
