Types and benefits of AO scholarships and scholarships for international students

If you pass the selection process and are accepted as a scholarship student, part of your tuition fees will be waived.

SS scholarship student 1 million yen exemption (500,000 yen x 2 years)
S scholarship student 600,000 yen exemption (300,000 yen x 2 years)
A scholarship student 400,000 yen exemption (200,000 yen x 2 years)
B scholarship student 200,000 yen exemption (100,000 yen x 2 years)
C scholarship student 100,000 yen exemption (50,000 yen x 2 years)

*There is no obligation to return the funds (except for dropouts).

*The amount of exemption will be reviewed when students advance to the next grade. The above amounts are examples assuming that students remain in the same scholarship category until graduation.

*If the maximum number of applicants is reached, the application period may close before the deadline.

Eligibility to apply

AO scholarship admission/AO admission
  • Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or a foreign country, or those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this. (※1)
  • Students who have this school as their first choice.
  • Those who sympathize with and aspire to our school's admissions policy.
  • Applicants whose Japanese language ability is deemed to be sufficient for studying at our school.
  • For those enrolled in a Japanese language school, those who have an attendance rate of 80% or more at the time of graduation. (After passing, submit a certificate before enrollment.)

<Meet one of the following conditions>

  • Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or above administered by the Japan International Education Association and the Japan Foundation.
  • Those who have obtained 200 points or more in the Japanese language section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) (※2)
  • Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.
  • Those who have received Japanese language education for six months or more at an educational institution in Japan that provides Japanese language education to foreigners (Japanese language education institution) and is designated by the Minister of Justice in a public notice.
  • Those who have completed at least one year of education in a Japanese elementary, junior high or high school.
General admission
  • Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or a foreign country, or those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this. (※1)
  • Applicants whose Japanese language ability is deemed to be sufficient for studying at our school.
  • For students enrolled in a Japanese language school, their attendance rate must be 80% or higher.

<Meet one of the following conditions>

Tuition reduction and exemption for international students
  • Those who have completed 12 years or more of formal school education in Japan or a foreign country, or those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as being equivalent to this. (※1)
  • Applicants whose Japanese language ability is deemed to be sufficient for studying at our school.
  • Those who can recommend themselves in terms of sports, hobbies, volunteer activities, studies, work experience, etc.
  • For students enrolled in a Japanese language school, their attendance rate must be 80% or higher.

<Meet one of the following conditions>

  • Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or above administered by the Japan International Education Association and the Japan Foundation.
  • Those who have obtained 200 points or more in the Japanese language section of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) (※2)
  • Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.
  • Those who have received Japanese language education for six months or more at an educational institution in Japan that provides Japanese language education to foreigners (Japanese language education institution) and is designated by the Minister of Justice in a public notice.
  • Those who have completed at least one year of education in a Japanese elementary, junior high or high school.

(※1) This refers to those who are recognized as stipulated in the "Qualifications for University Admission" announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology based on the Enforcement Regulations of the School Education Act.

(※2) Grades are valid for two years.

    *Please attach a photo.

    *Please fill in the "Parent or guarantor" field with a person who lives in Japan. (Students of our school are not accepted.)

    *In the educational history section, please fill in the information about the school you are currently enrolled in.

  2. Copy of passport
  3. Copy of residence card
  4. Graduation certificates (or graduation prospects) and attendance certificates from all schools you have studied in Japan and attended (Japanese language schools, vocational schools, universities, etc.)

    If you reside outside of Japan, please submit a graduation certificate for your highest level of education (a Japanese translation must be attached).

  5. Copy of the results and certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), or BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test (if you have one)
  6. Documents for financial support
    (One of 1 to 3)

    This document proves that you can pay tuition fees and other expenses.

    1. Remittance certificate
    2. Copy of the bankbook in the applicant's name

      *Please provide a copy so that the name and balance can be seen.

    3. Scholarship payment certificate (if using a scholarship)

      *If you are having difficulty submitting any of the documents at the time of application, please contact our school.

      *Please attach a Japanese translation of any documents from overseas financial institutions.

      *If you are unable to prove your financial support, you may be asked to submit additional documents.

Selection Process

AO scholarship admission/AO admission

*Even for AO admission applicants, a written Japanese test will be conducted if it is deemed necessary.

*If you are not selected for the AO scholarship, you will be given priority admission as an "AO student" and will not need to take the exam again.

Written Exam Exemption

Those who wish to enroll in the general admission program and who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or above, obtained 200 points or more in the Japanese language subject of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) (scores are valid for 2 years), or obtained 400 points or more on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test, will be exempt from the written exam upon submission of a certificate.

*Those who are selected for admission with tuition fee reduction for international students are required to take a written test.

*If you are not selected as a scholarship student for the international student tuition fee reduction program, you will be reselected as a "general admission applicant" and, in principle, you will not need to take the exam again.

*The Japanese written test is at N2 and N3 levels.

*We cannot answer any inquiries regarding the results of your application.

How to submit your application Please send it by registered mail or bring it directly to our school.
Selection fee 20,000 yen (exempt for AO scholarship students and AO enrollment)
*Please make sure to transfer the money before applying.

* Whether you submit your application by mail or in person, you must transfer the application fee in advance. Transfer the application fee using the designated transfer form or an ATM in the applicant's name, and attach the "Transfer Certificate" (or the original "Transfer Statement" if using an ATM) to the back of the application.

*The screening fee cannot be refunded after the application has been accepted.

* If you are sending your application by mail, please place your application documents in the application envelope designated by our school and send it by registered mail from your post office so that it arrives within the application period.

*If you are sending money from outside Japan, any fees will be borne by the sender.
