:It is possible to transfer from Department of Hairstylist or Department of Hairdesign & Makeup when advancing to the next grade. However, it is not possible to transfer to Department of Hairstylist or Department of Hairdesign & Makeup due to the number of hours designated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

In the first semester of your first year, everyone will study the same subjects without being divided into courses, and you will not actually be divided into courses until the second semester of your first year, so it is okay if you have not decided before you enroll.

Basically, we will tell you about the manufacturers of cosmetic teaching materials that are relatively gentle on the skin and are used in schools.
If you are still worried, you can bring your own cosmetics with you.

Do I have to graduate from beauty school to become a cosmetologist?

Unless you graduate from a beauty stylist training facility designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, you will not be eligible to take the national beauty stylist examination. (If you do not qualify, you cannot become a beauty stylist.)
There are three types of hairdressing training facilities:
- Daytime course → 2 years of study
- Evening course → 2 years of study
- Correspondence course → 3 years of study
